The global energy company ØRSTED is a pioneer and market leader in offshore wind energy. The German subsidiary, with its approximately 120 employees, is located in the legendary Dockland building on Hamburg’s Elbe. Against the backdrop of increasingly hybrid working, ØRSTED decided to reduce its office space by one floor at the beginning of 2023. This was the perfect time to take on a pioneering role as an employer and to realize a future-oriented working world. In this way, flexible, hybrid working should be optimally supported and employees should be provided with a working environment that reflects all needs with regard to focused, communicative and collaborative work.

Under the motto „Love your workplace“, a concept was created that reflects the ØRSTED brand, demonstrates sustainability and offers a wide range of work opportunities in a modern feel-good ambience. As part of a vision workshop, we first defined the cornerstones for future cooperation with ØRSTED. Accordingly, activity-based working, flexible workplaces and desk sharing, collaboration areas and sufficient meeting and retreat areas should determine the working landscape. In demand workshops with different stakeholders and user representatives, the specific requirements were then defined and test layouts were visualized. Together with the employees, the layout was then subjected to a practical check, adapted and approved for implementation.

Finally, we were able to start the tender for conversion, relocation and furnishing with a conclusive concept and concrete planning. We also managed and monitored the realization process to ensure a smooth implementation. In order to take the employees along on their way to their new work experience and to get them excited about the new working opportunities, we introduced and involved them as part of our Change Management. We accompanied ØRSTED holistically in this project from planning to implementation and were also responsible for the plant concept, the AV/media technology as well as the planning and coordination of all tailor-made carpentry furniture.
